What a clearing job includes
Lot clearing covers anything from cutting back an overgrown fence row to opening a wooded parcel for a house. Typical pieces of a job:
- Cutting brush, vines and undergrowth
- Removing saplings and small trees
- Taking down selected large trees
- Chipping brush and hauling or stacking logs
- Grinding stumps where the ground will be mowed or built on
Selective vs full clearing
Selective clearing keeps the trees you want and takes out the rest. Full clearing removes everything in a marked area. Flag the trees you want saved before anyone starts.
| Selective clearing | Full clearing | |
|---|---|---|
| What comes out | Only what isn't marked to stay | Everything in the marked area |
| What stays | The trees you flag | Nothing inside the marked area |
How a tree service request works
Send the form
Your address, the trees involved and the service you need.
It goes to a local tree contractor
Your request is passed to a contractor who works in your area.
The contractor looks and quotes
They contact you, look at the job and give you a price.
You agree on the details
Work, timing and cleanup are agreed directly with the contractor.
Sending a request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Medina Tree Removal is a referral service, not a tree company; the contractor who contacts you quotes and does the work.

Where does lot clearing come up in Medina County?
Much of the county is still rural. York Township requires 2.1 acres or more for most homes, and its plan notes large wooded lots inside the blocks between main roads. Granger Township has no city or village at all, and its parks sit on old farms.
Old pasture can fill in on its own. At Buckeye Woods Park in Lafayette Township, the Park District says a thicket of thorny hawthorn took over where grazing animals once ate everything else.
What happens to the cleared trees and brush?
Most clearing jobs chip the brush on site and either spread the chips or haul them. Logs can be cut to length and left for firewood, stacked, or taken away. The Medina County Solid Waste District facility in Seville takes branches and trunks only when cut to 4 feet or shorter and no more than 24 inches round, and it does not take stumps or root balls, so bigger jobs almost always include hauling.
